About Us

Big Splash Waterpark is a Canberra community Icon and tourist attraction that provides a unique aquatic, health and recreational experience. It is the only themed waterpark in Canberra and has grown from a 1969 public swimming pool to become one of Canberra’s most popular summer aquatic attractions. The park has been in operation for more than 50 years and is set in the established suburb of Macquarie, just 1km from the Belconnen CBD. It is ideally located for both Canberra and interstate visitors with easy access to public transport and shops. The park is designed to cater to the entire family with 9 water slides (including the new Twister and Speed Coaster), Splash Island, Kiddies Pool, inflatables, 50m pool and Juniors Play Pool. A restaurant and catered functions are available for those feeling the need for a snack, birthday party or that special event. The park operates on a seasonal basis in the summer months from mid-November to mid-March.

General Terms and Conditions

By entering the park and/or purchasing one or more products at the gate or online through the Big Splash Waterpark web site, you are automatically agreeing to be unconditionally bound to these Terms and Conditions:

Conditions of Park Entry:

  • No entry to the park with payment and confirmation of booking.
  • You agree to let us search bags or other goods in your possession or your locker immediately upon request.
  • Due to safety requirements, physical and height restrictions apply on some rides.
      • To ride the sides a person must be over 1100mm in height.
      • To access Splash Island a person must under 1100mm or over in height.
  • You agree to abide by all ride instructions and safety directions of staff.
  • Big Splash Waterpark reserves the right to refuse entry or remove patrons for non-adherence to conditions of entry, failing to follow staff or signage instruction, unsociable behaviour (including unsocial language), violence, theft, vandalism, intoxication, use or influence of elicit substances, inadequate supervision of persons under your care and queue line jumping.
  • By purchasing a ticket you accept that your image may be taken and recorded by surveillance equipment for security and monitoring purposes and that all such images and recordings are the sole property of Big Splash Waterpark.
  • Big Splash Waterpark does not allow alcohol, drugs, commercially prepared food or commercial quantities of food to be brought into the park.
  • Big Splash Waterpark does not allow hot food of any kind into the park, without express written approval from the park General Manager.
  • No Animals may be brought onto the premises with the exception of animals for disability assistance.

Prices and opening hours:

  • Big Splash Waterpark prices and standard Opening Times are shown at www.bigsplashwaterpark.com.au.
  • The standard opening hours may change due to facility bookings, inclement weather or other factors which may close the park.
  • E-Tickets, Season Passes, Holiday Passes, General Entry or any other offers are not valid when the park is closed.
  • Big Splash Water Park Reserves the right to alter Prices, Terms and Conditions without notice.

Armbands:

  • Armbands are required to access the slides, inflatables and some other attractions in the park.
  • Armbands are provided after payment is received at entry to the park and are the responsibility of the customer after entry to the park.
  • Armbands are not transferable.
  • Armbands must be worn on the arm and will not be replaced if lost.

Refund Policy:

  • Big Splash Water Park has a no refund policy which is inclusive but not limited to, incorrect purchases, inclement weather, lost or stolen (E-tickets, armbands, Season Passes, Holiday Passes or other special offers), closure of slides for maintenance, safety, or act of god, or other reasons.
  • No refunds are payable in the event if a ride or park closure for any purpose outside our control.

COVID-19 Requirements:

  • As you know, a lot has changed since you were last at Big Splash Waterpark and we’re all adjusting to the impacts of COVID-19.
  • To ensure that all our valued visitors have a fun filled time with us in a safe environment, we have developed a COVID-19 plan and implemented changes to our operating procedures.
  • We have obtained approval and certification regarding operations of Big Splash Waterpark from the ACT Government. Under our COVID-19 Plan we have been granted maximum Occupancy of 1,250 visitors, at this stage.
  • In order to comply with key health and safety measures surrounding the COVID-19 ACT requirements, a visit to Big Splash Waterpark has changed. There are important changes for you to know before your visit us this year.
  • Our COVID-19 Update page (https://bigsplashwaterpark.com.au/covid-terms-and-conditions/) outlines of our COVID-19 procedures relating to aspects from your Arrival to Departure. These requirements must be adhered to during your visit.

Health and Safety Requirements:

  • To ensure the safety of patrons and staff, some activities may enforce an age, height, weight limits and/or clothing requirements.
  • Patrons with medical conditions are responsible for assessing whether they can participate. You must seek medical advice if uncertain.
  • Patrons with casts, footwear, eyewear or any hard or sharp objects are not permitted on any water slides and may be restricted on certain rides. If uncertain of the restrictions for each ride, please ask staff or check signs prior to participating.
  • In accordance with health, safety and hygiene considerations, all children who are not toilet-trained and customers with incontinence problems are required to wear an approved waterproof aqua nappy whilst using aquatic activities.

Supervision and responsibility:

  • All children under the age of 12 years be accompanied by an adult who shall be solely responsible for their care and conduct whilst on the premises.
  • As a guardian it is your responsibility to assess the swimming abilities and limitations of children under your care.
  • The owners and operators of the premises (Big Splash Waterpark) are not liable for and you irrevocable release them from any liability for death, personal injury, property loss or damage arising from whatsoever (including the negligence of staff to the fullest extent permitted by law) whilst you are on these premises.

Photography, movies or videos:

  • Photography, movies or videos taken by you must be for your own personal use and enjoyment and not for commercial purpose (must be of your own family only).
  • No flash photography is allowed in any attraction.
  • You agree that we may use any photographs that we may take of you for our commercial purposes without payment.

Locker Hire:

  • Lockers are available for hire for the storing of personal belongings.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure your locker is secured properly at all times during the period of hire. We are not responsible for the loss of any property from your locker due to your incorrect use.
  • We reserve the right to open, search, and empty any locker if any illegal activity is suspected. At no time shall any dangerous, flammable or illegal substances or equipment be stored in a locker.

Online Tickets Terms and Conditions 

  • Purchase and use of a Big Splash Waterpark E-Tickets confirms acceptance of our Terms and Conditions under which the ticket was purchased.
  • Entry to Big Splash Waterpark will be subject to occupancy limits required under COVID-19.
  • Our Online booking system provides our Guests with the option of purchasing E-tickets for entry to the park. The E-tickets cover Slide and Swim entry, Season Passes, Holiday Passes and Gift Vouchers.
  • Birthday Parties, Functions and Group Bookings can be booked through forms on our website and online booking system and are subject to confirmation by Big Splash Waterpark management.
  • Tube hire, locker hire and other services provided by Big Splash Waterpark must be purchased at park entry or while in the park.
  • E-Tickets for entry to Big Splash Waterpark are only available from the Big Splash Waterpark website and should not be purchased from any other supplier or individual.
  • All ticket prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST.
  • For online bookings Guests will be required to register for the date and session time they wish to visit the park. We recommend advance bookings through our online ticketing system to avoid disappointment.
  • If the session time you wish to visit is not listed in our online calendar, we may have already reached our occupancy limit, in which case you will need to choose another session.
  • E-Tickets provide the holder access to the park on any day during the valid period where the park is open to the General Public as per the Opening Times shown at www.bigsplashwaterpark.com.au.

E-Ticket Terms and Conditions 

Validity and Usage:

  • All E-Tickets will be valid for each session booked for the season “ONLY”. They will not be valid or transferable to other sessions or seasons.
  • Once expired E-Tickets cannot be refunded or extended.
  • E-Tickets are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or be used in conjunction with other offers.
  • E-Tickets are not valid when the park is closed.
  • An E-Ticket also entitles the holder to use the express entry to the park.
  • Height restrictions apply for some slides and attractions.
  • E-Tickets are not exchangeable and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers.

Delivery Process:

  • Our Online booking system provides our Guests with the option of purchasing E-tickets for entry to the park. The E-tickets cover Slide and Swim entry, Season Passes, Holiday Passes, Gift Vouchers and other Special Offers.
  • Big Splash Water Park will collect personal information during the process of purchasing an E-Ticket. This information may be collected, stored and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • You must complete, Online, all relevant details throughout the process of purchasing an E-Ticket. If your purchase is successful you will receive an email containing your purchase receipt and your attached E-Tickets.
  • Your credit or debit card will be debited at the time of purchase. All credit and debit card purchases are made through a secure payment facility.
  • A handling fee per transaction applies to some online purchases. You will be notified of fees when making the online purchase.
  • Once purchased you are required to print out each E-Ticket and bring them with you or present your E-ticket on your smart phone to gain entry into Big Splash Waterpark.
  • The E-Ticket will be scanned for validation purposes when you arrive at the park and where validated entry to the park will be granted under our Terms and Conditions.

Holiday Pass Terms and Conditions

Validity Period and Usage:

  • Holiday Passes are valid from 1 December to 31 January in the season of purchase “ONLY”.
  • Holiday passes will be able to book available sessions for the validity period with a designated code that will be provided after payment.
  • There are No Extensions to the validity periods available. Extensions or refunds as a result of limited visitation time or suspension from the park are not accepted.
  • A Holiday Pass covers all rides and attractions at the Park, excluding food and beverages, retail merchandise, ride photographs, tube hire, locker hire, birthday parties, functions and any extra in park spending.
  • Height restrictions apply for some slides and attractions.
  • Holiday Passes provide the holder access to the park on any day during the valid period where the park is open to the General Public as per the Opening Times shown at www.bigsplashwaterpark.com.au.
  • Holiday Passes are not valid when the park is closed to public.
  • Each Holiday Pass can “ONLY” be used for one single entry each day during the valid period. All Barcodes are tracked by our system to record daily entry.
  • A Holiday Pass can “ONLY” be used by the person whose photograph appears on the pass ID or our online booking system, and cannot be sold or given to anyone else to use. A Holiday Pass will be cancelled, with NO Refund, if it is found that pass:
    1. Was sold or used by a third party.
    2. Was altered or tampered with.
    3. Was used in breach of any Big Splash Water Park Terms and Conditions as outlined.
  • A Holiday Pass holder must be 12 years and older to enter the Park if unaccompanied by an Adult (16 years and older) who shall be solely responsible for your care and conduct whilst visiting the park.
  • Holiday Passes are not transferable, redeemable for cash and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers.
  • We may charge a fee if a Holiday Pass is lost, stolen or damaged in order to obtain a replacement pass. This fee may be waived if your pass is stolen and you provide us with a documented police report.
  • A Big Splash Waterpark Holiday Pass remains the property of Tara Lodge Pty Ltd (T/A as Big Splash Water Park) and is not transferable to another person.

Delivery Process:

  • Our Online booking system provides our Guests with the option of purchasing E-tickets for entry to the park. The E-tickets cover Holiday Passes.
  • Big Splash Waterpark will collect personal information during the process of purchasing a Holiday Pass. This information may be collected, stored and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • A handling fee per transaction applies to some online orders. You will be notified of fees during the order process.
  • Holiday Passes are limited and when the allocation is filled, online ordering will be closed.
  • You must complete all relevant details throughout the Online order process to successfully order a Holiday Pass.
  • If your order is Successful you will receive an email containing your Order Details and your attached E-Tickets
  • To redeem your Big Splash or Approved Supplier E-ticket, please print out each E-Ticket and bring them with you or present you’re E-ticket on your smart phone to Big Splash Waterpark.
  • You will be required to provide an approved form of ID to confirm identify for your Holiday Pass to be processed. Approved forms of ID include:
    • Valid Driver’s Licence — with Photo
    • Valid Student ID Card — with Photo
    • Valid Australian Passport
    • Full Birth Certificate
    • Valid Medicare Card
  • The E-Ticket will be scanned for validation purposes when you arrive at the park and where validated you will be issued with Holiday Pass.
  • Your Holiday Pass will be scanned and validated each time you enter the park.
  • On validation you will be granted access to the park under our Terms and Conditions.
  • Where the Holiday Pass is not validated you will not be granted access to the park.

Season Swim Pass Terms and Conditions

Validity Period and Usage:

  • Season Passes are valid from Mid-November to Mid-March in the season of purchase “ONLY”.
  • Season Swim passes will be able to book available sessions for the validity period with a designated code that will be provided after payment.
  • There are No Extensions to the validity periods available. Extensions or refunds as a result of limited visitation time or suspension from the park are not accepted.
  • A Season Swim Pass covers pool entry and swim only. It does not cover all slides, food and beverages, retail merchandise, ride photographs, tube hire, locker hire, birthday parties, functions and any extra in park spending.
  • A Season Pass provides the holder access to the park on any day during the valid period where the park is open to the General Public as per the Opening Times shown at www.bigsplashwaterpark.com.au.
  • A Season Pass is not valid when the park is closed to public.
  • Each Season Pass can “ONLY” be used for one single entry each day during the valid period. All Barcodes are tracked by our system to record daily entry.
  • A Season Pass can “ONLY” be used by the person whose photograph appears on the pass ID or in our booking system, and cannot be sold or given to anyone else to use. A Season Pass will be cancelled, with NO Refund, if it is found that pass:

  • A Gift Voucher holder will be able to book an available sessions for the validity period with a designated code that will be provided after payment.
  • All Gift Vouchers will be valid for the session selected and booked only. They will not be valid or transferable to other sessions.
  • Once expired Gift Vouchers cannot be refunded or extended.
  • Gift Vouchers are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or be used in conjunction with other offers.
  • There are No Extensions to the validity periods available. Extensions or refunds as a result of limited visitation time or suspension from the park are not accepted.
  • Gift Vouchers are not valid when the park is closed to the public.
  • Height restrictions apply for some slides and attractions.
  • A Gift Voucher provides the holder access to book a single session in the park on any day during the valid period where the park is open to the General Public as per the Opening Times shown at www.bigsplashwaterpark.com.au.
  • A Gift Voucher covers entry all rides and attractions at the Park, excluding food and beverages, retail merchandise, ride photographs, tube hire, locker hire, birthday parties, functions and any extra in park spending.
  • Each Gift Voucher can “ONLY” be used for one single entry during the valid period. All Barcodes are tracked by our system to record daily entry.
  • A Gift Voucher holder must be 12 years and older to enter the Park if unaccompanied by an Adult (16 years and older) who shall be solely responsible for your care and conduct whilst visiting the park.
  • We may charge a fee if a Gift Voucher is lost, stolen or damaged in order to obtain a replacement. This fee may be waived if your voucher is stolen and you provide us with a documented police report.
